Kutná Hora
Since the 14th century, the precious metal mines of Kutná Hora contributed an entire third to Europe's production of silver. The city grew second to Prague in its importance. Miners and monasteries powered the Czech kingdom which is visible until nowadays through its elegant squares, breathtaking cathedrals and a totally unique, macabre bone church/ossuary.
